Hi

Simple question that I can't find the answer too.

What is the font being used to create place names in (cities, towns)
in Google map.

Its like an Arial with white in middle and black border?

Anybody knows the exact details?

This is a font style application. In some applications it is an
'outline' 'style'. However, in a graphic application it is referred to
as a 'glow'.

open photoshop, use arial as your font, white as your colour if you're
putting on a dark background and then use either a black stroke or outer
glow in the blending options - the labels on the maps are baked on -
they are not standalone text so there is no "font" that has a black or
white glow

not really an api question ;)

using web-kit and css 3 you may be able to do it on the fly (i know you
can do drop shadows)
